Dungeness

The other-worldly patch of land at the end of Kent, known as Dungeness is a fascinating place to visit. It is the world's largest area of shingle and has become an important conservation site due to the surprising wealth of flora and fauna found there. All the more surprising, as it all sits under the shadow of a nuclear power plant.

Decaying fishing boats and paraphernalia are strewn on the shingle, against a backdrop of wooden houses where the owners live, either for the fishing, or just to escape the pressures of modern life.
