Costumed Venetian lady watching gondola

One of the services the gondoliers provided in the past was to deliver and collect the secret lovers of the nobility. The gondolier would sing when the real husband/wife returned, as a warning to those inside.

This was shot inside one of the palaces overlooking the Grand Canal. The model and access to the palace were arranged by the Venice School of Photography.
