Beech Avenue at Kingston Lacy
The beech avenue at Kingston Lacy stretches for over 2 miles.
Originally with 365 magnificent beech trees on each side of the road, old age and storm damage are now beginning to take their toll. In order that the avenue should be preserved, the National Trust have cleared a strip of land on each side of the existing trees and planted a new outer avenue. In a few years time, the remaining old trees will be cleared and the new outer avenue will take their place.
