Black Worcester pear blossom
In the newly planted orchard at Lyveden New Bield, Northamptonshire. It appears on the Worcester coat of arms, to commemorate a visit by Elizabeth I.
The original pear came from the Cistercian garden at Warden Abbey in Bedfordshire. It is a a culinary pear and keeps until early February.
